120-Year-Old Home — Exterior Restored

Daltonn’s Painting & Handyman Services restored this 120-year-old exterior after rebuilding an open and missing lower-wall section, addressing rotten window and siding areas, preparing a previously painted cement foundation, and applying the homeowner’s custom colors.

The project

Restore the exterior before asking the new color to carry it.

This 120-year-old home brought the kind of conditions an older exterior can reveal: a previously painted cement foundation, rotten window and siding areas, and extensive preparation before finish work could begin.

Daltonn’s Painting & Handyman Services repaired and restored the problem areas, prepared the exterior, and applied the homeowner’s custom colors. The original project post described four demanding weeks of work before the final reveal.

Repairs + preparation

The visible finish started with what had to be opened, repaired, and prepared.

Close-up photographs document the deteriorated siding and window areas, the opened sections, and the coating tests around the previously painted foundation.

Lower-wall rebuild

The bottom section was open and missing. We had to rebuild it.

The primary comparison above shows the wider open condition and the rebuilt exterior. These details move closer: damaged material, active reconstruction, and the completed lower wall near the utility side.

A family moment on the project

Alexander brushing the door.

Daltonn’s son, Alexander, helped brush the door during the exterior work. It is one of the real in-progress moments documented across this restoration.
